Terra Kaffe Demi
As part of an ongoing collaboration, we partnered with Terra Kaffe to design Demi—a compact, fully automatic espresso machine that brings barista-level coffee to an even wider audience. Demi delivers TK’s signature brewing quality and minimalist aesthetic in a form made for small kitchens, tight spaces, and satisfying routines. Ammunition contributed industrial design, user experience design, and engineering development support, working closely with the Terra Kaffe team to deliver the brand’s signature brewing quality in their smallest footprint yet.
The left-aligned dispense head, generously sized bean hopper and water tank plus full-width drip tray, are all carefully organized to balance performance with proportion. While compact, Demi celebrates the quiet confidence Terra Kaffe products are known for. With larger corner radii, softened proportions, and a friendly posture, Demi offers a more approachable stance while staying true to the Terra Kaffe identity. It’s 42% smaller in volume than the previous TK-02, yet no less considered in function, feel, or form.
The user interface is deliberately minimal: a tactile brushed-metal selector dial and dot-matrix display reduce visual clutter, while giving users clear, intuitive control over core settings. Demi handles Americano, espresso, lungo, and drip coffee with ease; from single shots to milk-based drinks, the result is a refined and seamless experience that supports the daily rhythm of home brewing.
Demi reflects Ammunition and Terra Kaffe’s shared belief that great design can elevate everyday tasks into thoughtful experiences. Rather than a scaled-down TK-02, Demi carries its own unique personality, while building on a strong foundation of shared design DNA. As coffee continues to become a design-forward ritual in the home, Demi offers a smarter, smaller, and more artful way to enjoy it—every day.
